During a ceremony commemorating the 226th death anniversary of Tipu Sultan in Hassan Abdal, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan issued a strong warning against any hostile move by India. He stated that any military confrontation initiated by India would have grave repercussions, potentially leading to its fragmentation, including the emergence of Khalistan in Indian Punjab and the independence of occupied Kashmir.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) District President Sardar Ashhar Hayat Khan, Sardar Zulfiqar Hayat Khan, Malik Amanat Rawal, Malik Riyat Sadrial, Federal Petroleum Secretary Tanveer Qureshi, Syed Atif Shah Gilani, Sheikh Ahsanuddin, and Sheikh Waqar Azeem Siddiqui.
Governor Haider noted that for the past 30 years, the people of Hassan Abdal have paid tribute to Tipu Sultan’s legacy with great reverence. He underscored the importance of standing firm for truth and righteousness, citing the examples of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and Tipu Sultan as enduring symbols of bravery and sacrifice whose legacies continue to inspire.
He strongly criticized historical figures like Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq for their betrayal of the Muslim cause, contrasting them with those who upheld truth and integrity. Addressing current geopolitical tensions, the governor asserted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now reconsidering his aggressive rhetoric toward Pakistan. He warned that war could lead to internal unrest within India, paving the way for secessionist movements.
Governor Khan praised Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir for his decisive and courageous response to Indian threats. He affirmed the unwavering solidarity between the Pakistani people and their armed forces, declaring their readiness to sacrifice their lives in defense of the nation. He concluded with a vow to support the liberation of Kashmir and the formation of Khalistan.
